Asibong unveils ‘Pulse of Paradise’, pan-African council acknowledges achievements

The now step-aside Commissioner for Health, Cross River State Dr Inyang Asibong has unveiled ‘Pulse of Paradise’, a publication chronicling all her achievements as Honourable Commissioner between 2015 and 2019 NEGROIDHAVEN can say authoritatively.
She performed this ceremony in Calabar the state capital while addressing press men and her staff in what was obviously a valedictory session with principal members of the State Ministry of Health and her direct office staff. 
Asibong who appreciated her principal the Executive Governor of the state, Sen. Prof. Benedict Ayade for giving her the rare opportunity to serve the state and humanity at large in his cabinet disclosed that the Pulse of Paradise was published in two copies, the 134-pages unabridged copy, and the 62-pages abridged copy. 
The erstwhile health joss appreciated the permanent secretary of the Ministry, Dr Joseph Adim Bassey, directors of the Ministry, her office staff and others civil servants of the ministry for the cordiality of 4 years which provided her with the enabling environment to serve in the high office. 

In a copy of the publication cited by NEGROIDHAVEN, the achievements of the Ministry under her watch were listed but not limited to:

-Successfully organized the first ever
State Health Summit and State Council
on Health following the call by the
Federal Ministry of Health;
-Guided the State to developing the first
toll-free Mobile phones for Health
facilities across the State;
-Calabar Municipality attained the the status of the first city in the world to achieving the 90:90:90 HIV/AIDS target;
-the only South-South State in the
country to winning bidding rights of
MTN Foundation support project to
renovate Maternal wards of the General Hospital Calabar; 
– Led the ministry to a drastic reduction in institutional Maternal Mortality Rate to an all-time low of 28%;
-Led the ministry to winning the World
Bank’ award for the most improved
State on Health;
-Led the ministry to becoming the model
State for the fight against NTDs globally
by RTI International and USAID;
-Successful accreditation of all Schools of Nursing and Midwifery in the state for the first time in nearly a decade. 
-Reduction in HIV prevalence rates in the state from 12% to 6.6% circa 2015 and 1.7% in 2018
-Developed Laboratory Management 
Information System (LAMIS) software for Health Information management systems 
-Established the first adolescent and
youth friendly center in the General Hospital 
-Counselled, treated and reintegrated
over 1,000 VVF patients in the 2017 pool

Meanwhile, the Pan African Good Governance Council, PAGGC an organisation giving to unifying the campaign for good governance in Africa named the outgone commissioner for health as one of the ‘top 10 best performing appointee in Cross River State between 2015 and 2019’. The ambassador of PAGGC, Prof Austine Angba did the presentation. 
The award presented to her confers distinguished membership on Dr Asibong for her excellent service to the state and humanity.
