The Honourable Commissioner for Information and Cultural Orientation, Mrs Rosemary Archibong Esq has come under fire for failing to give State-owned media house, Chronicles a face-lift after four whooping years NEGROIDHAVEN can say authoritatively.
On the 24th of April this year, a nitezen on Cross River cyberspace raised concerns about the state of the publishing house. George Odok a journalist queried thus: ‘4 years after, Chronicle building still looking obsolete. Commissioner for Information what is going on?’
There has been a plethora of responses in line with his social thread. For instance, Anthony Bissong Attah commented below thus: ‘Do we really have a Commissioner For Information in CRS?’. Okan Peter said, ‘The last time I visited that place, I walked from the gate  right inside, shouting if I could see one person to talk to, surprisingly, there was no one person who showed up until I left.’ For Susan Usen, it was ‘That chronicle building has never been fine since I was born’. Amawu Cletus-Albert Amawu has said, ‘Obsolete Ministry of Information and Orientation, under the present leadership. Worse Ministry under Ayade’s First Term.’ Prince Charles Ekanem IV said, ‘The last time I needed change of name for something, it took me 4 weeks because of no production of newspaper due to machine fault. I had to call the commissioner attention. She responded and I don’t know what she has done about that.’.

Missang Mimi Akpet disclosed thus, ‘Hmmmm… CRBC has been torchlighted, Chronicle torchlighted now left with the home front “Ministry of Information”. Abeg has anyone been to the newsroom of the ministry of late?’ Iwara U. Iwara said  ‘You will cry when you enter the building and discover that it PERSONIFIES deliberate failure.’

Odok’s social thread has received backlash. Some have construed Odok’s thread to be a personal diatribe against the prospect of the Commissioner getting reappointed: Etaba Etaba has said, ‘Attack on Ministries may have no influence on the withdrawal or reappointment of the heads. The Governor has a mindset already.  Let us not make enemies’. Obi Bankong Obi has said, ‘God knows that the abandonment of Chronicle is not an Ayade’s making. That renovation work was initiated during the last administration, so do your proper investigative journalism and find out what went wrong not  to always come to facebook and begin to ask questions relating to government policies as if we are discussing celebrity and dating issues. Channel your questions to the proper quarters and I am sure you will get proper answers.’
