Cross River State House Assembly pays surprise visit to Mainland Oil & Gas

The Cross River State House of Assembly on Tuesday carried out an unexpected visit to the management of Mainland Oil and Gas in Calabar NEGROIDHAVEN has garnered.
The delegation which was led by the Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Eteng Jonah Williams, was to engage the Management of the Oil establishment regarding some of the unsettled issues between the oil company and the state.
Speaking with the top brass of the Mainland Oil, the Speaker said the essence of the visit was to determine issues between the State Government and the Oil Company relating to the acquisition of some portion of land by the oil company.
Beaming with surprise, the Managing Director of the firm, who simply want to be called Chief Alex, said although the visit was apt, but regretted that the official who would have taken the House delegation to the sight of the tussle was not on sit.
However, the Assembly has agreed to constitute a Committee to liaise with the oil firm with an aim to get to the root and remote cause of the misunderstanding and report back to the House for further action.
