The lawmaker currently representing Akpabuyo/Bakassi/Calabar Federal Constituency at the 9th National Assembly is beginning to receive encoumiums on the occasion of his 64th birthday.
Nta Eke Effefiong who hails from Efut Ikot Effiong Nta, Ward 7 in Calabar Municipality of Cross River State is fecilitating with Rt. Hon. Essien Ekpenyong Ayi of the National Assembly NASS.
Effefiong in a statement made available to our correspondent disclosed that Rt. Hon. Ayi is a politician who aspires for an egalitarian society where the conditions of living is germane to all and sundry including the less privileged.
According to the frontline contender for the office of Council Chair of Calabar Municipality, Ayi’s outlook at politics contrast with the contemporary trend. And should be coveted. For Ayi ‘politics should be to the service of the people.
Continuing, Effefiong disclosed that ‘My relatively closer relationship with Rt. Hon. Ayi over the years has helped me to understand in practical terms that politics should ultimately be to the service of the generality of the people who constitute the given Constituency.
Politics should not just better the lot of the political establishment.’
He used the opportunity to wish Essien Ayi a happy birthday and many more fruitful years ahead.
