Senior Special Assistant on Social Media to the Governor of Cross River State, Thursday went emotionally beserk in his defence for the choice of tags by his principal during the presentation of 2020 appropriation bill.
Egbelo Ntebri Edward took to social media to call Nigerians unprintable names for reacting differently to the tags the Governor of the state chose to call the anticipated 2020 appropriation law tagged ‘Budget of Olympotic Meristemasis’ and pegged at 1.1trillion Naira.
Edward said anybody whose grouse with the bill is actually the title then that person has a pathological condition. He added that such critics are hating and ignorant at a perpetual scale. For him there are what he referred to as ‘beautiful highlight’.
His words, ‘If your problem is actually the title of the budget, then you need to see your doctor!’
Continuing the social media aide added: ‘
You are not interested in the beautiful highlights in the budget that talks about tax exemption for low income earners, education, industries and health. Your problem is the name.
‘My point is, we should be more interested on the beautiful highlights in the budget that talks about tax exemption for low income earners, education, industries and health. The budget caption (Olimpotic Meristemasis) are words with deeper meanings, let’s rather concentrate on the content of the budget and not two words on its cover.’
Then the disappointed aide declared: ‘Their criticism is not born out of any love for Cross River State! It is just pepertual hatred and ignorance!’ and then

‘I remember that old music ‘na wetin you go do my brother oh! Wey Dem no go talk’.
Albeit, Victor Ekpo Ita a media practitioner cautioned Egbelo accordingly, ‘This is not the best way to defend your principal’s policy on a public platform, your principal was elected to represent all interest, you are a public servant by your appointment.
‘Being objective in responding to criticism is very key. Attitude of this nature might affect the big picture at the end…elections are over, you are to explain policies to the understanding of the least in the society…’
Again, Otu Otu Ita said ‘Should we not be bothered that the propose Budget negates economic principles and appears unrealistic?’. A popular DJ replied with the following words, ‘We have always looked towards the palliatives that are engulfed in the budget since 2016 we haven’t seen its implementation so, since we have another with a funny and clownish title hence why people are catching fun with this grammatical expression too’.
Recall that Cross River governor, Sir Ayade, Thursday, presented an appropriation bill of one trillion, one hundred billion, one hundred and sixty seven million, five hundred and seven thousand naira, nine kobo, for the 2020 fiscal year.Tags for C/River State previous budget under Ayade are: 2016: Budget of Deep Vision, 2017: Budget of Infinite Transposition, 2018: Budget of Kinetic Crystallization, 2019: Budget of Quabalistic Densification.
