State Coordinator of NYSC Cross River, Eddy Megwa has appreciated the efforts of Cross River State Commissioner of Police for his continued partnership with the scheme in the State.
Megwa gave the commendation yesterday when he led a delegation of top management Officials of the Scheme to the Commissioner’s office at the Police Headquarters in Calabar.
He said, “The core essence of our visit is to appreciate your office for the long standing collaboration existing between the command and the NYSC. Your Officers have always been part of the success story record during our Orientation Courses.”
He reminded the CP of the low number of Corps Members posted to the Command, pleading with him to ensure that Corps Members will be accepted by the Command as the scheme desires to increase the statistics subsequently.
The NYSC boss further pleaded with the CP to ensure that his Officers always call on Corps Lodges whenever they are on patrol so as to boost their security. He promised to give the necessary assistance to the Command whenever the scheme is called upon.
He also brought to the knowledge of the CP the decision of the scheme in the state to make him the chair of the final Inter Platoon Football competition in the next Orientation Course.
Responding, CP, Nkere Uwem Akpan thanked the Coordinator and his entourage for deeming it necessary to call on him which he said will go along a way in solidifying the existing relationship between both parties.
The Police boss emphasized on the need for Corps Members to be mindful of their movements and the kind of friends they keep. Narrated the ugly incidences happening around the state, especially Calabar South, pleading with the Corps Members to avoid late movement no matter what is at stake.
He assured the Coordinator of his maximum support to ensure the growth of the scheme in the state.
