Going by a Sunday, 5th July, 2020 resolution of the national leadership of the Inter Party Advisory Council (IPAC) with reference number IPAC/EC/SC/CO /05/2020, the Cross River state 'interim executive council' of IPAC led by Anthony Bissong Attah of the Young Progressive Party (YPP) is experiencing a setback NEGROIDHAVEN can say authoritatively.
IPAC in Cross River, according to the communique co-signed by Dr Leonard Nzenwa and Yusuf M. Dantalle the National Chairman and National Secretary respectively, misinterpreted 't the directive issued on February 26, 2020 during IPAC National Press
conference for replication of Interim State Management Committee were
(misinterpreted) and taken out of context as no clear guidelines and modalities to steer the Committees’ institution was in place'.
While acknowledging that the situation has led to disharmony in IPAC across the 36 states, the national leadership has resolved that an:
-'Interim State Management Committee whose constitution will be overseen by National Officials within the next 14 days in the premises of INEC will be inaugurated at an agreed date.
-'Where 12 out of the 18 political parties are able to meet, a quorum is achieved
for the purposes of the constitution of the Interim State Management Committee based on agreement of majority of attendees present in said meeting,
-'National Officers of IPAC would be assigned to monitor the constitution of these Interim State Management Committees across within the next 14 days, and List of instituted Interim State Management Committee(s) should be transmitted to the undersigned within same period.'
In our report of 30th June on the emergence of the interim leadership of IPAC in the state, we stated that 'eight (8) out of the eleven political parties recognized by INEC in CRS met and unanimously agreed to elect a seven man interim Executive to lead the Inter Party Advisory Council, IPAC' https://www.negroidhaven.org/2020/06/criver-inter-party-advisory-council.html?m=1. Besides, there was no national representative of IPAC during the constitution. Finally, going by the confession of the LP and NNPP, the constitution was not done in INEC premises: Comr. Ekpo Bassey Ekpo of LP and Engr. Christopher I. Attah's 'interim executive' according to Emmanuel Oko Ogar, stands dissolved until a new leadership is constituted accordingly.
