A 24-page petition signed by Emmanuel Bessong and Rev. Reko Ekpe is indicting the Auditor General of Cross River state, Comr. John Mpama Odey, over issues of alleged forgery and age falsification NEGROIDHAVEN can say.
The petition reads in part thus:
1. That the Auditor General of the State is responsible for the removal of 500 science teachers and 40 lawyers from the State's payroll unjustly. Comrade John Mpama Odey has also maliciously removed several staff of Government from the state payroll and his inabilities cum unprofessional practices in the accounting field is a red alarm indicating that Cross River State is sitting on a keg of gun powder that may explode if nothing is done swifly.
2. It's also very glaring that his birth Certificate as sworn by his father was later mutilated to suit his desired age.
3. Comrade John Mpama Odey claims to have been a pioneer Prelim Student in the defunct POLYTECHNIC CALABAR with just 2 credits without English Language (which no school admits anyone with 2 credits and a failure of F9 in English) and went further to get ND and HND with the same two credentials. John Mpama Odey, in quest for higher knowledge went to University of Calabar for a Post Graduate Diploma in 2003 but was dropped on the grounds of having just two credits. He however forged a Post Graduate Diploma attestation letter which he has used since 2006 till date without providing a valid certificate.
4. His NYSC discharge certificate at the age of 35 shows that he was still a civil servant in Accountant General Office without clearance from his employer yet he enjoyed all benefits as a civil service servant including progression/promotion in the state while in Service(this we all know aren't the Standards).
We however call on the authorities concerned to commence investigation, while reminding well-meaning Cross Riverians on the sensitivity of the position of the Auditor General and how injurious this is to image of the State.
We must arise at once as a people.
