Some Nigerian students of exceptional intelligence, indigent economic circumstances and similar circumstances have recently experienced financial and material succour NEGROIDHAVEN has confirmed.

The Joseph Edet Project, JEP, gifted over 500 students resident in Calabar the Cross River capital metropolis with tuition fees, scholarships for one year, school uniforms/sandals, and writing materials.

The Founder and Executive Director of JEP, Mr Joseph ‘Lashakara’ Edet who embarked on a ‘Back to School Tour’ of almost fifteen schools in Calabar South and Odukpani local government areas disclosed that the idea is to reach educationally sound and promising students, as well as students from indigent homes and the like.

While at St. Theresa Primary School, and Government Primary School all in Odukpani, Edet and Government Primary School in Calabar South said: ‘the idea is that from each school we are picking 5 best students, we are looking at 10 to 15 schools, we are targeting 500 and 1000 students. You know we came yesterday and promised we were going to come back. I thought it wise to visit these schools at random. We are going to pay for their tuition, we observed that some of the students don’t have sandals, we are paying right away. We are making school uniforms available as well.

‘Ours is simple, let’s give these little kids hope by supporting them the little way we can, that way, we are helping to build a future for our state and country. I learnt that some of them have issues with paying their tuition fees. We are not happy with that.

While reacting to the development, the Head Teacher of Government Primary School, Mrs Offiong Ekpe-Offiong Efiok, appreciated the team while praying for God to bless them. In all fifteen schools, the students as well as the class teachers were visibly grateful to the Joseph Edet Project.
