Over 5,000 Youths to Gather in Calabar for the Convergence Conference

Arrangements are underway to host the largest gathering of youths in Calabar for the first ever conference of like minds tagged, The Convergence, a meeting of professionals from different works of life aimed at addressing and re-emphasizing the crave for a better socio-economic thriving Country.

This was disclosed in a statement issued by the Convener, Joseph Edet (La’Shakara), Managing Director, Summit Hills/Garment Factory, on Thursday in Calabar.

According to the him, the Convergence is birthed on the foundation of inspiration, leadership and nation building and will draw speakers and panelists from across the country with the required wealth of knowledge and experience to help shape the minds of young people and hands for the task ahead.

“This will be the first of its kind in the state and we are focused on young people in politics and business the participation.

“The event will feature energetic presentations and enlightening discussions. The business angle, will focus on addressing the issues of ENTERPRISE DEVELOPMENT and how it connects with the CREATIVE INDUSTRY,” he said.

According to the Convener, Joseph Edet, the application of non-partisan approach was in line with the the objective of moving the nation forward collectively. Hence, the event will cut across political party lines and interest.

“O yes! It’s not just for youths, everybody has a role to play in the betterment and reformation of our country’s Vision of a Prosperous Nation where freedom, Justice, Equity and Economic Growth is realized to the optimum,” he reiterated.

He also stated that as for those emerging political and business leaders amongst the youths, service to the people is sensitive and they must be deliberately prepared for by guiding their conscience and their resolve to serve.

Concluding, he charged young people to send the arrows of their business venture and political aspiration with the hope that they hit the bull’s eye, but before they do so, development of skills is important.

The event is scheduled to hold early next year with an exciting line up of Speakers to be unveiled soon.
