Emana Duke-Amahwe: PDP women leaders condemn attack on female aspirant for ABC Fed Constituency

Women leaders within the opposition People’s Democratic Party, PDP in Cross River have unanimously condemned the Friday attack on a female aspirant for the Akpabuyo/ Bakassi/Calabar South Federal Constituency NEGROIDHAVEN can say.

Chapter and Ward Women Leaders Forum of the PDP comprising all ward and chapter women leaders in the state in a letter cited by our correspondent said the attack on Lady Emana Duke Ambrose-Amahwe a female aspirant for the ABC Federal Constituency is condemnable. While calling for justice to be meted against the alleged perpetrators, they said that women should not only be cheerleaders but leaders as well.

Their words are contained in a statement signed by her state chair, Queensley Bassey and it reads, ‘The Chapter and Ward Women Leaders Forum of the People’s Democratic Party of The Akpabuyo, Bakassi & Calabar South Federal Constituency condemn strongly the attack on Lady Emana Ambrose-Amawhe and her team.

‘She wants to contribute her quota through her representation and only went about consultations which is her right as an aspirant.

‘We believe that the attackers need to be brought to book for this act of injustice.

‘Women should not be cheerleaders only; but leaders equally.’
