BREAKING: UNICROSS student qualifies for World University Games, China

Information reaching our newsroom suggests that a female student of state-owned varsity will be representing the country in the forthcoming World University (FISU) Games scheduled for July 28 through August 18, 2023, in Chengdu, China.

Margaret Ukam Upoh, student-Judoka schooling at the University of Cross River State (UNICROSS) formerly known as the University of Technology (CRUTECH) has qualified for FISU Games.

Upoh, who is a student of the Department of Biology at UNICROSS qualified for the international tournament after scaling through a NUGA-World University Games Trials held at the University of Benin.

In an interview with Judoka Upoh, she disclosed that she is ‘in high spirit as she has been preparing for the global event’. She added that UNICROSS management has been quite cooperative with facilitating her level of preparedness for the global sporting competition.
