Calabar– The Cross River State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has vehemently rejected the nomination of Mr. Asu Oku Okang as the representative of the state on the board of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC). In a press release issued by the party’s Assistant Publicity Secretary, Hon. Emmanuel Edem Inyang JP, the APC expressed strong displeasure over the inclusion of a known member of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on the NDDC board NEGROIDHAVEN has confirmed.
The press release commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his efforts in addressing the infrastructure decay and challenges facing the Niger Delta region. However, the APC noted that the nomination of Asu Oku Okang, a PDP member, was both shocking and unacceptable. Okang, according to the release, had been a persecutor of the APC and a political opponent who allegedly engaged in destructive actions against the party during the 2023 general elections in Etung Local Government Area of Cross River State.

Hon. Emmanuel Edem Inyang JP, the Assistant Publicity Secretary of APC Cross River State, called on the President to investigate the situation in the state to prevent disaffection and political crisis within the party. The press release concluded by expressing gratitude to President Tinubu for his leadership and called for divine guidance and protection for him.
