Abuja – The All Progressives Congress (APC) has unveiled its committees for the 2025 Anambra State gubernatorial primary election, signaling the party’s preparation for a competitive race to select its flagbearer. The announcement, made public through an official document, outlines the leadership and membership of the Primary Election Committee, the Primary Election Appeal Committee, and the Secretariat tasked with overseeing the process NEGROIDHAVEN can report.
Chaired by Cross River governor Bassey Ottu, the committee includes prominent figures such as Gov Biodun Oyebanji as Deputy Chairman and Sen. Joshua Lidani as Secretary. Other members are Hon. Akintunde Adegboye, Hon. Abacha Mallam Kadai, Barr. Ada Ogbu, and Hon. Ibrahim Jirgi. This team is expected to ensure a transparent and fair primary election process.
To address any disputes arising from the primary, the APC has appointed Rabiu Suleiman Bichi as Chairman of the Appeal Committee. He will be supported by Comrade Tosin Adeyanji, Dr. Edward Ihejirika, Hon. Shehu Shettima, and Hon. Fafowora Folarin as Secretary. This committee will play a critical role in resolving grievances and upholding the integrity of the election.
The Secretariat, responsible for the logistical and administrative aspects of the primary, comprises 12 members, including Sani D. Galadima, Comrade Isah Daniel, Stanley Ugboaja Ph.D, and Joy Akang, among others. Their duties will include coordinating activities between the committees and ensuring smooth operations.
The APC’s detailed composition of these committees underscores its commitment to a credible and orderly primary process. The party’s National Secretariat, located at No. 40, Blantyre Street, Wuse 2, Abuja, will serve as the hub for these activities.
Political analysts suggest that the APC is keen to avoid past pitfalls by instituting robust structures early in the election cycle. With Anambra being a key battleground state, the party’s ability to conduct a hitch-free primary could significantly influence its chances in the general election.
