African Democratic Congress in C/River Elects New Leadership, Vows to Rebuild Party Ahead of 2027 Polls

The African Democratic Congress in Cross River State has elected a new State Executive Committee as part of moves to strengthen and reposition the party in preparation for the 2027 general elections in Nigeria NEGROIDHAVEN can say.

According to TheBeagleNews the election, which took place on Saturday in Calabar,. was overseen by a State Congress Committee led by Prof. Sambo Williams as Chairman, Chief Muganami as Secretary with Comrades Anthony Bissong Attah and Dr. Inyang Unoh as members.

Those elected to steer the affairs of the party include Godwin Assam Effa as the State Chairman, State Secretary Asuquo Ekpo, Deputy Chairman, John Jallo Egbeji, State Publicity Secretary Paul Effiom Edet, State Financial Secretary, Eja Martins Titia, State Treasurer, Etim O. Umoren, State Organising Secretary, Andrew Okwoche, State Legal Adviser, David Ekpo, State Woman Leader, Christabel Kosang, State Youth, Leader Michael Anese, and State PWD Leader, Charles Samuel.

Others elected are John Akoramit, Vice Chairman, South, Fijian Uninke Akpake, Vice Chairman, North, Cosmos Efeghe, Vice Chairman, Central) and 51 other members.

In his acceptance speech, the State Chairman, Godwin Assam Effa, described his leadership as a “new beginning” for the state, emphasising a vision centres on the energy of the younger generation while maintaining respect for the wisdom of the old.

He said: “This moment is not just about me,” Effa declared. “It is about a rebuild of broken values. It is about a generation that refuses to give up on its future. To the young people of Cross River State. Your time is now.

“I pledge to transform the ADC from a mere political platform into a “platform for possibility,” focusing on three core pillars: I will run an inclusive leadership by moving away from the politics of exclusion to embrace all demographics.

“I will restore integrity and confidence in leadership through transparency. I will reposition Cross River as a beacon of progress and opportunity., “he declared.

Commending the party stalwarts including His Excellency, Senator Liyel Imoke and National Vice Chairman South, Pastor Usani Usani, Effa called on all old and new members to join the movement., saying “together, we will build a party that wins not just elections, but the trust and hearts of the people.

“With the 2026 congress concluded, the ADC in Cross River State appears set on a path of aggressive grassroots engagement and internal reconciliation as it prepares for victory in the upcoming political season,” Effa stated
