Dear Ambassador Toyo,
I'm really sorry that I am diverting your attention from serious State matters. Recalled that I wrote to you an open letter a week ago seeking an explanation why the Cross River State delayed the screening exercise of the beneficiaries of the Federal Government N-Power Initiative.
I am happy that you the screening exercise as promised. I am so happy that you kept the process going even with the little funds available to you. I appreciate the fact you are working a tight schedule to meet up with the dateline, so that beneficiaries can get their December stipends. Well done Ma.
However, there had be grave concerns that some people of Cross River State origin were screened out based on what some of your staff or ad hoc workers considers as over age. It is more alarming that some of those persons refused accreditation are from Ugep in Yakurr LGA. I make reference to Eyong Godwin (0803 693 4775) whose telephone number has been registered and cleared on the N-Power national website. Eyong Godwin was refused clearance at the Ministry of Finance N-Power accreditation/screening ground. Mr Iwara Sunny with registration/mobile 0805 438 0324 was also refused screening on over age allegation.
Madam, after speaking with other N-Power State Co-ordinators from Bauchi State, Kogi, Edo State, Lagos, Gombe, and Ebonyi States, I wish to let you know that I was informed that the N-Power initiative is born out of the need to engage the youths that are considered over aged and without working experiences in the labour market. Speaking with Hajiya Maryam Isa Meye, SA to the Governor of Gombe State on Social Investment, I was told that the N-Power Initiative is a platform given to older graduates without employment opportunity to contribute meaningfully to national growth.
I also asked whether Gombe State created a complementary website for the N-Power Program. Of course she laughed at the idea that Cross River State has a cloned N-Power website. Madam Ambassador, be informed that certain staff in your employ are employing some fraudulent tricks to corner the resources of the federal government through the N-Power platform in Cross River State.
Madam, I am giving you this benefit of doubt because you built your name on integrity, probity, and open mindedness. I seek for explanation why you overlook their behaviours.
I will be writing a detailed petition against the Federal Government N-Power Initiative Anchor Person, the SA Job Placement, Commissioner of Finance Cross River State, if in the next seven (7) days explanations are not given as to why this program is different in approach and content only in Cross River State.
