CALABAR – The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Cross River State, Prof. Francisca Bassey, has sought stronger collaboration with the Cross River State Office of the Surveyor General to enhance academic development, land administration and infrastructure planning.
Bassey made this known during a courtesy visit to the Cross River State Surveyor General in Calabar on Monday as part of the university’s efforts to strengthen partnerships with key government institutions.
According to the university, discussions at the meeting centred on deepening institutional collaboration in areas such as academic excellence, physical campus development, land administration and sustainable infrastructure planning.
The Vice-Chancellor said surveying remained critical to modern infrastructure development, urban planning, environmental sustainability and the generation of accurate geospatial data.
She noted that as the university continued to expand its physical infrastructure and train professionals in surveying and related disciplines, collaboration with the Office of the Surveyor General had become increasingly important to ensure adherence to best practices in spatial development.
The Surveyor General and members of his management team received the university delegation and expressed readiness to strengthen ties with the institution.
The office also indicated its willingness to deepen the partnership through a reciprocal visit to the UNICROSS campus to explore areas of mutual interest and institutional cooperation.
University officials said a stronger working relationship between the state’s university and the Office of the Surveyor General would promote educational advancement and support infrastructure development across Cross River State.
