Key players in Cross River State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) may have incurred the wrath of the national body of the party owing to their dirty past and unwarranted lies. It is worthy of note that prior to the elections, the former governor of C' River, Liyel Imoke, promised more than a one million vote to former president Goodluck Jonathan(GEJ). Sadly enough only Four hundred votes were awarded to GEJ in utter shame and dismay. As if this is not enough, contested cases in the various tribunal courts have revealed massive evidence of rigging showing forth the weakness of PDP in CRS.

In the spirit of lies, these desperate self acclaimed powers in PDP created a picture that the opposition never exist in CRS. Contrary to their falsehood, the opposition has proved very strong in CRS with the state governor planning to key in members of the opposition into  PDP with 30 slots in a bid to buy them into the crumbling structure.

Realizing the weakness of big names like Liyel Imoke, Owan Enoh, John Okon, Gershom Bassey etc PDP at the national level has excluded some perceived big names from its decision making body. These names are absent in PDP national caucus and board of Trustees and the recently constituted party reform conference made up of 181 members as published in  Thisday Newspaper of Sunday September 13, 2015 precisely at page 103.

The PDP reform congress have the duty of deliberating and considering the best way to reach at decisions that will:

–   Re-ignite the noble ideals and good image of PDP

–   Restore the party's core values and directive principles

–   Re-mobilize national support for PDP

–   Re-organize the party as to ensure effective transfer of power to the people

–   Revive and ensure the practice of genuine internal democracy within the party

–   Ensure zero tolerance for corruption and the promotion of transparency in governance

–   Generate fresh ideas on people-oriented programs for ensuring good governance; balanced development; human security; with social justice, equity and fairness.

The theme of the proposed conference is POWER TO THE PEOPLE: Re-igniting The Ideals, Core Values And Principles of The PDP. While big names like Godswill Akpabio,  Ken Nnamani, representatives of NWC, Raymond Dokpesi, Ben Obi, Olusegun Mimiko etc featured prominently, Liyel Imoke, Bolaji Anani, Owan Enoh Gershom Bassey etc were conspicuously absent in the list. Only Amb. Nkoyo Toyo, Senator Ita Giwa and Ray Murphy came from CRS extraction.

From the above, the sins of arrogance and impositions seems to visit strong in CRS than any other state. I salute the courage of former distinguished Senator, Victor Ndoma Egba who read before hand to move away from the sinking ship. It is worthy of note that Sen Ndoma was never left out in any decisions making while in PDP; this tells his strength

No party has visited more woes in CRS than PDP. It has come clear that the evil that men do live with them. While the likes of Akpabio and Mimiko have grown from state politics to national, Liyel Imoke has been totally left to his sins and would soon be forgotten in CRS politic especially for selling the gubernatorial ticket to Senator Ben Ayade
