Yesterday,22 October 2015 the Deputy Speaker of the Cross River State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Joseph Bassey, thanked Governor Ben Ayade for nominating Dr. Iyang Asibong as his Commissioner nominee.
Hon. Bassey thanked the Governor when Dr. Asibong appeared before the Cross River State House of Assembly, for the mandatory screening of Commissioners by the House.
He said he was confident that Dr. Asibong will perform as Commissioner. Saying that as a medical doctor, she has displayed rare sterling qualities, using her chosen profession as a doctor to ameliorate the sufferings of her people, especially the people of Calabar South.
He said he had so much faith in her person and was optimistic that, if appointed Commissioner for Health, she will bring her experience to bear in transforming the health sector in the State.
