Welcome to the New Cold war. Turkey shooting down of a Russian fighter Jet and American President saying Turkey has a right to defend
herself and her airspace smacks of a brewing crises between America and Russia. Putin calls it a stab on the back.

Is ISIS really a common enemy? Is Syria the new battle field in the new cold war? Will Turkey's actions further create problems for them with European Union and her quest for economic and political integration?

The coalition between Iran, Russia, and Syria, is their fight really against ISIS or the moderate forces
supported by America? Is this really a fight against terrorism or a show of international superiority, capture of territory and show of influence?

Can Nigeria seize these opportunity, relaunch and host the estranged group of non aligned nations? Do we understand that in this games that nations play, the friend of your friend is your friend, and the enemy of your friend should automatically be your
enemy? Iran just held a development summit in which Nigeria was in attendance. What are the implications on international strategic diplomatic stage?

Now, following the shooting of the Russian war planes, Putin has decided not to go to war with
Turkey. But can this type of silence be golden or is it the type of silence that is worst than an outright war?
Moreover, Russia has decided to build a military air defense system in Syria. This surface to air missile control system implies a total control of Syria's airspace by Russia. What then are the military strategic significance of US war planes operating in Syria's air space? What are the implications of this move on the future stability of the Israeli nation, the Palestinian crises and the Middle East peace?

Understanding International relations, you will see that international Crisis are not isolated incidences, they are all connected.
I would recommend that Nigeria immediately call and host a summit of non aligned nations, strategically, we can seize the opportunity created by this impending international crises to asset a new relevance as Africa's big brother in international strategic relations of Nations.

Let us annex nations allegiance within our sphere of influence and use it as bargaining chip's in this new cold war and games that nations play.
