HEALTH: Ayade’s Aide Promises 10% of her Salary to the Best Performing Unit in her Department

The Special Adviser(SA) to the Cross River State Governor on Community & Primary Health yesterday promised 10% of her annual salary to the unit with the best performance in 2016. This she did as an incentive to raise the low morals of staff in the Community &  Primary Health Care Department

Dr Betta Edu the Special Adviser to the Governor Sen. Prof. Benedict Ayade yesterday at her office at Barracks Road promised 10% of her annual salary to the best performing unit in the department.

She made the call during the departmental meeting and presentation of unit functions, roles, challenges, working scheme and way forward for 2016 by each unit of the department. The S.A started the meeting by thanking the Governor for bringing her on board at a time like this. She also emphasized on the strong commitment shown by the governor to revolutionize  community and primary health care in Cross River State. In her remarks, she noted that the governor understands the importance of community and primary health as the foundation of the entire health system and was ready to overcome all challenges and provide quality health services to everyone in the communities.

She advised staffs of the parastatal to be ready to work hard and get things done the right way. Different head of units led by Dr Onebieni Onebieni Ana, Director Primary Health Care (PHC) gave their presentation.

Mrs . Felicia Eyaba reflected on immunization programmes such vaccines training and cold chain system implemented by the department.

Health Promotion unit was not left out as the head Mrs Agnes Ogogo informed the S.A about advocacy visits to stakeholders, religious and traditional leaders, women groups, CBO's and CSO's carried out during the year.

In her summary the S.A informed the workers that, Governor Ben Ayade is 100%  committed to the total functioning of health care in the state and that is the primary reason she was sent to the Department. She craved their cooperation and promised to carry everyone along so as to achieve the goal of building the best community and primary health care system in Nigeria. "Let's make Cross Riverians happy and healthy"

The young dynamic S.A was applauded by workers of the department. Some of them describing her as God sent to the parastatal as things had gone really bad. They expressed confidence that her dogged nature and innovative ideas will bring the progress they have been praying for.
