The Garment Factory(GF) is about one of the projects CRS Governor, Sen. Prof. Ben Ayade, is presently executing as governor. It's through this project that he intends to create employment to women and widows.

At some point, the project was supposed to have been completed within the first 100 days of His Excellency. However, due to some logistics HE couldn't meet that demand. However, aides of the governor had at some point informed the general public that the project was 90% complete as equipment for its setting up had be shipped to the state.

The GF represent what critics of the government have referred to as the only realiseable component of all of Ayade's executive ambitions. It intends to replicate what countries like China, etc are doing in the global textile industry.

It's in view of having an eye witness account of the level of execution of the project that one of Cross River most influential public affairs analyst and social commentator, Prince Thomas Abi Jr(PTAJ), decided to pay a visit to the site of the project located at the Goodluck Jonathan Bypass. What follows is what he said concerning the ongoing work:

'In order to see things for myself, the level of work going on at the Cross River Garment Textile Factory, I went on a visit to the factory.

I am very impressed with the level of work so far. What I can say is well done to the contractors and the amiable Governor of Cross River State, HE, Sen Prof. Ayade Benedict for his steadfastness and tenacity in seeing that he achieves his dream of having a garment and textile factory in the State.'

It is the prayers of this press outfit that the Cross River Garment Textile Factory popularly referred to as the Garment Factory(GF) would be completed in record time.
