On Wednesday 17 February 2016 Cross River State persons with disabilities demonstrated at a strategic point of the state, in front of the 'Destination Cross River' stature at Cross River State Basin Authority where they were believed to stall traffic for over 5hours. The governor of the state was not around and as a result could not attend to them which was their ultimate wish. However, the Deputy Governor, Professor Ivara Esu, was in the state but still couldn't visit these over 300 demonstrating disabled persons on the flimsy and irresponsible claim that 'my my hand are tied' obviously by the absenteeism governor who was having a swell time allegedly signing MoUs in far away countries.

This trend of crass insensitivity and unforgivable irresponsibility has not gone down well with some inhabitants/citizens of the state. What follows is a cross section of what some Cross Riverians said in disappointment.

Ifere Paul:
'He was my mentor. But I quickly removed him from that list as soon as I noticed that he was being controlled by Frank Ayade. I was once attracted to this enigma of wisdom with his sterling leadership qualities. He was an administrator par excellence. How he reduced himself to this pathetic being is something I don't understand.'

Joseph Odok:
'Its really pathetic that the deputy governor could allow himself to be so limited at his age. It is more pathetic that this is happening to an Ex Vice chancellor and Professor'.

Blessing Nku-Ekpang:
'Shameful. How can Prof Ivara Esu not know his duties as a deputy Governor?'

Eno Beke Ikwen:
'Lols. Na my village elder so. Chai! See what Political longthroat has caused my elder.'

Amunde Thomas Jr.:
'All indications shows he z working strictly on d instructions of d governor witout considering d plight of d disable. On gud grounds, afta d governor he z d man next door wen such issues surfaces'

Efio-Ita Nyok:
'Why didn't the governor ask the defacto governor, Frank Ayade, to show up there'

Etimbrown Agmailgyitu:
'You (including my Ifere Paul) people shld leave my Oga alone. Or, is there no more wisdom in silence.'

Emmanuel Albert:
'hahahaha that is funny, your oga is fucking up, so we go pluck goat leaves for am'.

Cross Riverians need a break from executive irresponsibility and insensitivity. There's always room for second chance.
