A popular supermarket along Ekpo-Abasi Road in Calabar, Cross River, was under attack yesterday night by men of the underworld.

Negroidhaven gathered from a reliable source that the 4-man robbery gang shot a young man who according to eyewitness happens to be the owner of the supermarket as they attempted to run away with the stolen valuables.

The Nation newspapers also corroborated the incident arguing that gathered it  occurred at about 9:00pm, yesterday Thursday.

Eye witness report had it that that the daredevils while seeking for escape route, snatched a vehicle at gun point.

However, one of the members  had prior to this time murdered in cold blood  a taxi driver, who refused to let go of his cab as he struggled with one of the criminals fearing for his life but unknown to him, the criminal had a loaded gun.

As at the time of the robbery, there seems to be no trace of the men in uniform (Security Agents) who were to clamp down on the Thieves.

We hope to give us further details as more information comes to bare.
