The struggle for relevance seems to be pushing Mr. Ben Ayade too far. The reality of a rubber stamped Cross River State House of Assembly seems not to be helping the lawless governor. A vibrant Legislature ought to correct the mistakes of the governor in exercise of its oversight function.
As it is today, Mr. Ayade has just arrived Taiwan to order for three silos for storage of grains. The silos is said to be sited in each senatorial district in CRS. This ought to be good development if due process for procurement was followed but Ayade being always ready to make extra cash for himself for every project, had always shrewd his government with secrecy.
For lack of due process Cross River State has lost much and today it ranks as one of the poorest state in the country. Noble project like super high way has lost favour because of hidden agenda of the governor.
The questions that need be asked is if there is is a procurement plan for silos? Is the silos contained in the budget? The secrecy of the budget may be because of the governor's plans to run his government according to his whims and caprices.
