Yesterday, 27 September 2016 the Supreme Court of Nigeria decided that the ongoing suit between Joe Agi SAN Vs CRS PDP with Governor Ben Ayade as third respondent will have its final judgment on 9 December 2016 as against 17 January 2017.

Social media was yesterday awash with the report that the PDP, the second respondent in the ongoing case apologised to the apex court for filling a wrong candidate in the 2015 gubernatorial election in that he supplied erroneous details about himself in official documents relating to his election and therefore took sides with Agi the plaintiff against Ayade the defendant.

This reported incident has generated controversy among the political class in the state. In fact, it's argued whether the PDP is paying back Gov Ayade in his own coin especially considering the fact Ayade is rumoured to have contemplated defecting to the governing APC earlier before now.

This sentiment was given vent through a popular and active social media user in the person of Inyali Peter who incidentally is the media aide to Mr Odey Ochicha, the former gubernatorial candidate of the APC in the 2015 gubernatorial election in Cross River State.

Read Mr Peter's phrasing of the sentiment as it appeared on his social media account yesterday, 'The report making the round on social media that PDP disowned Cross River State Governor Ben Ayade in the ongoing criminal case filed against him by Joe Agi, SAN in Supreme Court is shocking'.

'Is this part of the restructuring process in the party? Has Ayade become so unwanted that his own very party has rejected him?'

'I remember when he threatened to dump the party for the ruling APC prior to the first aborted Port Harcourt National convention. This could be a pay back time!'

Could it actually be pay back time against Ayade? Is something kicking out the green-white-red party over the head of Cross River governor Ben Ayade?
