The Cross River State House of Assembly yesterday Tuesday 27th September, 2016 passed a resolution in support of the appointment of five special advisers to the governor of Cross River State Sen. Prof. Ben. Ayade. The resolution was in respect to the letter sent to the House by the governor requesting the House to allow for, the appointment of five extra special advisers.

The letter which was read in the floor of the House by the Speaker, Rt. Hon. John Gual Lebo, received support and commendations from members. One of the most remarkable of such  commendations was from Rt. Hon. Jones Williams, the Chairman House Committee on Finance and Appropriation, who described the letter as straight forward and purpose driven in actualizing the vision of the governor which is tilted towards expanding the government for the betterment of Cross Riverians. He also added that in the other hand, the S.As will become his colleague, since he also double as S.A to Mr. Speaker.

Meanwhile Hon. Friday Gabriel Okpechi, the member representing Obubra 1 while speaking in favour of the motion, used the opportunity to appeal to the governor through the Speaker to atleast appoint one of his constituent as an S.A, stating that the Obubra Constituency have  no Commissioner nor Special Adviser in this present administration.
