ETISALAT to donate 40 desktop computers to Linda Ayade’s pet project, MDF,

ETISALAT Nigeria in partnership with the Wife of Governor of Cross River State Dr (Mrs) Linda Ayade and the Government of CRS is inviting members of the executive council, legislature, political appointees, and the general public to the official signing and flagging off of Etisalat Fight Malaria Initiative. The event will start by 11am at the International Conference Centre, University of Calabar today, 29th of September 2016.

Hunt Malaria Initiative which is one of the cardinal program of Mediatrix Foundation (MDF) has successfully established Fight Malaria Clubs in secondary schools to educate students on the effect, dangers and prevention of Malaria in our society. Over 30,000 mosquito treated nets have so far been distributed in both public and private schools by the foundation.

The above has attracted Etisalat Nigeria to partner with CRS. Her Excellency will be glad to have everyone present at the event because if we walk together eradicating Malaria, CRS will achieve significant results within a short time.

Meanwhile 40 deskstop computers were delivered by Nigeria's telecommunications giant Etisalat as part of their partnership with MDF to set up ICT centres in Public Schools which will help improve ITC skills of students and educate them on simple ways of ending Malaria for good in CRS.

Expressing happiness and profound appreciation to Etisalat, Dr Linda Ayade who spoke through the Director General CRSPHCDA, Dr Betta Edu said Etisalat have shown today that their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is really effective and sustainable. She said the desktop will go along way in aiding students acquire computer skills through the ICT centres. "With this the students can do research, get latest approach on Malaria eradication interventions. All hands must be on deck to win the war against malaria.
