Tottenham Hotspur has made the signing of Moussa Sissoko a top priority after letting Nacer Chadli join West Brom Albion, despite the huge price tag slashed on him.

"The 27-year-old France international arrived on Tyneside in January 2013 from Toulouse and made 133 appearances in all competitions for the Magpies during three-and-a-half years at St James' Park, scoring 12 goals.

"Sissoko's final outing for United came in a 5-1 victory over his new side, Spurs, on the last day of the 2016-17 campaign."

It was initially speculated the fee slashed on Sissoko would scare Spurs away as Spurs initially had tabled £18m for the player which was rejected. Everton and Chelsea had believed to have enter the race at the last minutes of transfer deal, but the London outfit club couldn't imagining Chelsea stealing this move once again, which they did three years ago with Borges Williams.

Tottenham had not considered the fee of £30m too hefty for the versatile winger in other to avoid losing another player to their London rivals at the verge of completion of a deal. As the fee made Everton pulled out of the race.

The winger made the decision to move from relegated Newcastle  in other to bolster his chances to retain his international place, but if he was playing his football in the Sky Bet Championship it would be difficult he quoted.

A well reasonable deal had been struck for Spurs for the versatile 27 years old France international. A five year deal, which could strongly belief Spurs must have made it so in other to scare off potential suitors as a huge buyout clause would have been placed on him.
