The rumour of embezzlement of funds by consultants that carried out the screening exercise in the various local government areas across the state seems to be a reality. This embezzlement of funds was done behind the governor.
News has it that the consultants have shared the balance of salaries of workers they presumed to be ghost workers. As time went on these workers; presumed to be ghost workers showed up for their screening. Unfortunately the consultants have quickly shared the balance of salaries of workers presumed to be ghost workers
While some workers in the local government have been paid their salaries, those in populous local government like Boki are only paid for some months because of shortfalls; that is due to the fraud of the consultants. Information has it that the fraudulent consultants have shared the balance of the proceed of salaries of workers they presumed to be ghost workers. Some workers in Boki local government are paid their September and October while being owed of their July and August salaries.
I call on the governor to quickly step in and call the consultants to order and and account. This will go a long way to safe his damaging image.
Ayade's appointees seems so hungry that corruption and extortions have become a means of survival.
A labourer deserves his wages.
