The Government of Akwa Ibom State has finally adduced what according to her, are the reasons for the Uyo church building collapse.

You would recall that the tragedy which befell the Reigners Bible Church in Uyo of Akwa Ibom State claimed nothing less than 26 lives as police reports alleges.

Since that incidence occurred, it seems as though panic took over, as Nigerians now "shine their eyes" before visiting religious places of worship, a situation which left many wondering if the House of God is no longer Safe.

In order to quell the panic raised by even some social media outfits which seems to tie the unfortunate incidence of the building collapse to the handiwork of some spiritual forces, the Governor of the state, Mr Udom Emmanuel aided by a 7- man committee experts saddled with the task of unravelling the cause of the building collapse has finally spoken out.

According to our source, while
speaking yesterday at the 2016 Akwa Ibom Christmas carol at the Uyo Township Stadium, His Excellency, stated that the tragedy cannot be forgotten in a hurry and that the State is yet to fully recovered from the shock.

He however noted that, investigations reveal that the church building collapse was a product of Human error (man’s handiwork) and nothing more.

In his remark, the Governor assured the indigenes of the state to always believe in God's promises for a better life.

In his words:

“Ever since God created the sun and put it there, we have never had a blackout. The sun has never ran out of gas.

The collapse of the building was man’s error. That is why we have set up a high-powered panel of enquiry to determine what went wrong".

“We dedicated two days of mourning to the souls of the departed. We activated the full machinery and resources of government to aid the rescue and evacuation of victims of the tragedy.

We have also assured the victims’ families of government’s resolve to stand by and with them during this time of mourning…"

He further assured all Akwa Ibom residents that their lives  mattered most and hence the state government would ensure  their safety in any situation.

For record purpose, Below are the names of the seven-man panel set up by the government.

First on the list was Justice Umoekeyo Essang (Chairman).

Other members include: James Utiaruk, Essien Nkanga, an Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Abibo; Prophet John Linus, Asuquo Okon and James Amiang & Mrs. Emem Victor Daniel of the Ministry of Justice in Uyo, who sat as the Secretary.
