The Chief Justice of Nigeria in acting capacity, Walter Samuel Nkanu Onnoghen, who was yesterday confirmed by the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria has noted that it will be impossible to hijack the Judiciary under his watch as substantive Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN).

Onnoghen made this position known yesterday while fielding questions from distinguished members of Nigeria's Red Chamber. According to him, the judiciary will be strengthened owing to the fact that it's the last hope of every human.

His words: 'Under my watch, the independence of the judiciary will be strengthened because the sector is the last hope of every man and justice is divine', he stated.

While responding to questions bothering on the Senate’s concerns on judicial absurdities, especially conflicting judgement, Onnoghen said: 'Conflicting judgement are bound to happen because the processes are different and the lawyers can adopt any of the choices and the system of Nigeria Judiciary has a way of regulating itself'.
