Confirmed reports reaching our news desk has it that the distinguished lawmaker representing Cross River Central Senatorial District at the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Mr John Owan-Enoh, has suspended his defection move to Nigeria's ruling political party, All Progressives Congress (APC) NegroidHaven can say. His suspension will last for a forthnight.
Owan-Enoh's intention to defect from the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) was officially billed for Saturday 22 April. In fact, he had written the leadership of the APC in the state of his intention to move out of the PDP.
It's rumoured that Owan-Enoh's decision to suspend his defection was at the instance of the profound pleas of former Governor Liyel Imoke and incumbent Governor Benedict Ayade.
My quandary is why Owan-Enoh suspended his much-talked-about political emigration? Is this suspension confirming that this move wasn't borne out of ideological conviction but because of his personal grouse with Gov Ayade? Or is Joseph Odok the acclaimed social change agent his major nightmare?
Hmm! Cross Riverians are watching.
