The Governor of Cross River State, His Excellency Sen Ben Ayade will be presenting the 2018 Appropriation Bill, Thursday, to the 25 members Cross River State House of Assembly NegroidHaven has confirmed.
Today's exercise which is billed to take place by 9AM at the Assembly complex was botched on 31st October this year due to perceived controversy between the Executive and the Assembly over Assembly allowances, however the fact that relevant authorities have come out to deny this allegation.
The 2017 appropriation Law tagged Budget of Infinite Transposition was pegged at N301 billion. While the 2016 appropriation law christened Budget of Deep Vision was initially proposed with N350 billion; it's rumoured that this year's appropriation bill is named Budget of Digitalisation.
Ayade credits Assembly men/women N10 million each?
Joseph Odok, acclaimed change agent and controversial social commentator has alleged that Gov Ayade has disbursed the sum of at least N250 million to the Assembly to influence their decision to sit over the budget presentation today.
According to him, 'Ayade has credited the account of all state house of Assembly members with 10 million each to assuage them pass the budget'. When queried for evidence, he replied by saying the Assembly will sit soon. Incidentally, the Assembly is sitting today from reliable sources. Could it be true that the 25 star studded Assembly is raking with 0.25 billion naira as I write?
