Government Special Announcement!
It has come to the notice of Cross River State Government, that there exist rumors and speculations that our health workers and the Nigerian Army are vaccinating children in our communities and schools with killer vaccines or injecting them with disease.
This has discouraged parents from taking their children to health facilities for routine immunization. This propaganda on immunization is completely false and will negatively affect immunization coverage in Cross river state which will put our children at risk.
Furthermore, rejection of these vaccines will lead to wastage of millions of naira which the Federal and state Government as well as partners have invested already.
The general public should disregard such speculations, it is not true and there is no reason for scare or alarm. The Nigerian Army is not involved in vaccination exercise in the state.
There’s currently no ongoing vaccination campaign in schools across the State.
The public will be duly informed on the commencement of such campaigns which include Vitamin A and Polio vaccination, other vaccination which is usually administered orally and are given house to house or in schools.
The only injectable vaccine administered in schools is Measles vaccine and the measles campaign is starting next year. More public awareness will be created for this exercise in due course.
The vaccines for routine immunization are endorsed by the World Health Organization and Federal Ministry of Health, facilitated by the State Government, administered with due information to the public.
All vaccines approved by the State Government are administered by trained and competent health workers only.
All vaccines given by health workers as approved by World Health Organization and Cross River State Government are free, safe and will cause no harm to children.
Several risk abound for children who are not vaccinated, they may suffer from preventable diseases like blindness and deafness from measles, paralysis from polio, etc,  we must sustain our  gains.
Our children need protection and are at great risk, let us join hand to support  the Government of Senator Prof. Ben Ayade who is committed to the good health of our children as he thrives to  provide quality and accessible health care services to the good people of the State.

Save the life of our children by ensuring that they are immunized.
