It is a popular belief amongst many religious sects and denominations that Prophecies for the new year has a fundamental effect on issues that concern not just individuals but also a political economy, hence, the cliche that " the spiritual (Religion) governs the natural(polis)".

In line with the foregoing, The Controversial courageous Catholic priest, Rev.Fr. Ejike Mbaka delivered during his church’s cross-over service what has been conceived as a "Prophecy of Doom" 2019 prognosis against the incumbent president, Muhammadu Buhari, in which the Clergy spoke in clear terms that President Buhari should not run for office in the year 2019 if he does not want to be disgraced by Nigerians.

Such prophecy by the Priest did not seem to go down well with the All Progressive Party faithfuls, the party that had served as an edifice for the emergence of Pres. buhari in the previous Election.

Fr. Mbaka was quoted as saying that the president’s strategy for fighting corruption is archaic, and that “the Lord” has asked him to tell the president not to seek for a re-election in 2019. In Fr. Mbaka's words: He (Buhari) shouldn’t “come out for the second tenure” but that he should “retire peacefully.”

In response to the above, the APC’s national secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi argued that 'a prophecy is a matter of “personal conviction,” and a political party cannot take critical decisions based on prophecies.

His words:
"We cannot run a political party by prophecy. Prophecies are a matter of personal convictions or personal beliefs. The party cannot act based on any kind of prophecies because we are not operating on that.We only act based on what we consider politically correct".

" People are therefore free to believe in such prophecies but our party will nit act or take critical decisions on the basis of some prophecies".

Could Abdullahi be Right? Should the APC disregard the alleged prophecy by the 'Man of God' especially in times like this?

Shouldn't prophecies and Prophets be proved and weighed in crucible even as the Holy writ avers?

But come to think of it , Didn't the APC belief the prophecy of this same Fr.Mbaka in which the Clergy prophesied that Buhari would be President.?

In the same vein, If in the previous election, Fr. Mbaka warned the erstwhile president, Goodluck Jonathan not to seek for a re-election, that he was going to fail, and that eventually came to pass.

Don't you think, Buhari and APC as a party should heed the warning as same is coming to them now?

Is it the case that Politics shouldn't therefore be mingled with Religion and Prophecies as Abdullahi, since there have been records in which religion nay prophecies overtook political climates and steered the course of the destiny of Nations like Nigeria. A good example was the prophecy by Pst.Tunde Bakare which saw tge Death of Sani Abacha, The prophecy of Apos. Johnson Suleman that saw the death of the erstwhile Governor of Kogi State, Alh. Prince Abubakkar aa well as other prophecies.

Premised upon the forgoing, don't you think Buhari should sit back and retire as advised by the Cleric? Tell us your take.
