CLICE Foundation holds livelihood enhancement programme for Gombe state

No fewer than a hundred and thirty women in Gombe State, Wednesday, convoked at the Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Welfare for a Life Enhancement Workshop on entrepreneurial development and skill acquisition training on bead making, Ankara craft, soap making, cakes and confectioneries NegroidHaven can report authoritatively. 
The workshop, themed: ‘Paving the Way for Women Entrepreneurs’, which served as a Life Enhancement project of CLICE Foundation and was executed in collaboration with the Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Welfare. 
According to CLICE which believes in the Young Africa Leaders Initiative (YALI) of grabbing Africa4Her, in the face of the present economic challenges, the contributions of Women entrepreneurs to economic growth should not be overlooked. They added that, ‘based on needs assessment of the Community, the LS project which forms one of the cardinals of the Federal Ministry of Women Affairs is an initiative of Comfort Literacy Intervention & Capacity Enhancement (CLICE) Foundation which is aimed at actualising the 5th goal of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG).’

The workshop got support by Her Excellency, Hajiya Adama I. Dankwambo, wife of the Governor of Gombe state, who was represented at the workshop by her Special Adviser Mrs. Hauwa Musa (who also acted in the capacity of the Chairperson of the event),  the Commissioner for Women (Hon. Rabi Daniels) Affairs represented by the Director of Women Affairs, while the Permanent Secretary was represented by the Director Administration and Finance and the a honourable member of the Gombe State House of Assembly, the Chairman House Committee on Women Affairs was represented by his Secretary.
During the workshop, Mrs. Hannatu Ibrahim (MFR) who is the Executive Director Guidance and Counseling Development Associatio represented by the President of Nigerian Association of Women Journalist, Gombe State Chapter, Mrs. Comfort Mokollo, had a paper presented on: “The Role of Women Entrepreneurs in Building the Nigerian Economy” while the State Officer, Bank of Industry Mr. Bala M. D. presented a paper on: “Unlocking Investment and Funding Opportunities for Women Entrepreneurs” and from the United Bank for Africa there was a presentation on ” Requirements, Standards and Conditions for Lending and Borrowing”.
The project was supported by Gombe State Board of Internal Revenue, Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Welfare Gombe State, Bank of Industry Gombe State office, United Bank for Africa (UBA Kasua branch Gombe). 
Participants at the event expressed their appreciation to CLICE Foundation and the Government of Gombe state.
