International development consultant, social entrepreneur and political pundit, Mr Princewill Odidi, Monday, lend his support to the recent statement credited to former Chief of Defense Staff, T. Y. Danjuma in respect of self-defense by the Nigerian citizenry NegroidHaven has garnered.
Odidi who observed the inability of the Nigerian government to protect the lives and property of citizens noted that Danjuma's thinking on self-defense was in order.

His words, 'Again, I think TY Danjuma’s reasoning on citizens self protection is in order. It is obvious that the government cannot protect the citizens, the herdsmen attack defenseless local farmers and inflict harm at will.

'We have argued in the past that police operations and budget should be decentralized to component units managed either by local councils or state governments, others have argued such an offer will be hijacked.
'How long then will the people stay defenseless and at the mercy of herdsmen who value cattle more than human life. Over time we tend to politicize everything even our individual safety'.
Odidi's support for Danjuma's remarks is premised on the dearth of authentic solution to the security of lives and property of Nigerians. While not losing hope in the country, he said, 'We can do better as a country, in the absence of any credible solution to the management of individual security, safety of lives and property from external attacks, then I stand with TY Danjuma.'
It will be recalled that on Saturday at the maiden convocation of Taraba state university said, 'You must rise to protect yourselves from these people, if you depend on the armed forces to protect you, you will all die. This ethnic cleansing must stop in Taraba, and it must stop in Nigeria.'
