Mr Venatius Ikem, an APC gubernatorial hopeful in Cross River state has taunted the so-called 'Signature Project' of the incumbent Governor of Cross River, His Excellency Sen. Prof. Ben Ayade.
Particularly, Ikem is asking : if the project is 85% complete as was rumoured, how come there are bids for it now in national dailies with almost three years into the lifespan of the administration?
See excerpt of Ikem's taunt via social media recently titled, 'Tales that my Governor told me…( 1)' :
'I hold in my hand today, The Nation Newspaper of March, 22nd, 2018. On page 12 of that publication(1/2 page!) is an Advertisement captioned: "Invitation to Submit bids for the Construction of the Bakassi Deep Sea Port to Northern Nigeria Dual carriage six Lane Super Highway".
'Almost three years after the commencement of these two "Signature Projects", and after work has been at advanced stage of Construction, according to Gov Ayade and his aides, after Billions of Naira have been spent, with work at 85% completion, we are about to start bidding for the construction of these wonder projects!
'Wonders would never cease to happen in our dear state.
'If you are an interested company please hurry and buy the bids. You have from now until 18th April, 2018 to submit your bid. If you need a copy of the newspaper please call on me.'

But, come to think of it : what will Mr Ikem do differently from Ayade? Besides, his party hasn't done exceptionally well nationally. In the state, it's a paper tiger. So, what will they do differently?
In fact, some people are beginning to fear 'north'. You know what I mean! Hmmm!
