Former governor of Cross River State and 2019 presidential hopeful, Mr Donald Duke, has finally roped himself into the #EndSARS campaign, a social media movement calling for the reform of a unit of the Nigerian Police —the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, perceived to be unprofessional in the despatch of its duties to the Nigerian public NegroidHaven has confirmed.
Duke who recently declared to run for president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in the forthcoming 2019 general elections said that he feels fear, hurt and anger which he can't describe when he reads reports of harassment, abuse and even extra judicial killings perpetrated by the SARS unit of the Nigerian Police.
The presidential hopeful said this on Twitter, Monday, where he sued for accountability, responsibility and rule of law to be observed by the police. He said that the Nigerian Police is meant to protect and serve Nigerians despite complexities.

His words, 'As a father to young adults, I cannot begin to describe the fear, anger and hurt I feel when I hear and read reports of Nigerians, young men and women, harassed, abused and even killed by the very agencies set to protect them.

'Rule of law in the land is paramount to progress in any civilization. Police are meant to protect and serve. We must always aim to do better as Nigerians irrespective of the complexities involved in policing.'
Continuing, Duke noted that,  'Accountability must be present: someone must take responsibility. We must stop viewing our issues as their problem; it is our problem. We all matter. It can happen to anyone. Don't wait til it happens to your child or someone you love before you become concerned.
The #EndSARS campaign has been trending for a while with very prominent Nigerians lending their voice in support.
