Dr Matthew Achigbe, a factional chair of the APC in Cross River State, Wednesday, emerged the state chairman of the All Progressives Congress APC in the State despite a standing court injunction NegroidHaven has garnered.
It will be recalled that there is a court injunction prevention the conduct of any congress pending October when the case will be heard officially.
However, it’s been alleged that the National Working Committee(NWC) of the APC, including the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) were present at the yesterday Congress. Our news outfit has confirmed from the Resident Electoral Commissioner of INEC in Cross River, Dr Frankland Biriyai has confirmed, INEC observing the Congress.
A source has it that there is a polarisation of the NWC of the APC in respect of this said Congress because there are suspicion that the National Chairman of the APC, Comr Adams Oshiomhole is taking sides with this Congress against the court ruling.
