Joseph ‘Lashakara’ Edet

A House of Representatives member for the Calabar Municipality/Odukpani Federal Constituency in the forthcoming 2019 general elections, Mr Joseph Edet popularly called Lashakara (after his clothing line), has said that he is not deterred by the decision of the national leadership of the leading opposition political party in Nigeria, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to give automatic tickets to already serving members of the National Assembly (NASS) NegroidHaven has garnered. 
The House of Representatives hopeful, in a press release made available to NEGROIDHAVEN stated that he has not refrained from contesting in the general elections. He informed that there are measures to reverse the decision especially for his constituency. 
His words reads in part, ‘I JOSEPH EDET haven’t backed down from the race. We are working on calling off the Automatic Ticket decision and hope that a good conclusion will be reached favoring Odukpani. We hope to complete this journey. We believe it is the turn of Odukpani and our voices must be heard!
‘Nonetheless we respect the decisions of the entire Leadership of Odukpani and the Government of CRS to wisely settle the matter in favor of us as we follow their leadership.’
Tuesday, there was a protest led by Mr Emile Inyang former Chairman of Biase LGA in Cross River State, Mr Ekpo Okon former State chairman of the PDP in the state and Mr Dorncklaimz Enamhe a PDP chieftain.
