My emergence as SDP flagbearer is affirmation of confidence in me —Eyo Ekpo

Former Attorney General and Commissioner for justice, Mr Eyo Ekpo Esq who was a sole aspirant for the governorship ticket has said that his emergence as the candidate of the Social Democratic Party, SDP, is an affirmation of the confidence reposed on him NegroidHaven can report authoritatively. 

According to him, the vision of the SDP is to give the electorate the dividend of democracy, a disposition he was poised to. His words, 'this Statewide affirmation of my candidacy signifies the confidence you have in my ability to rescue Cross River from the downward spiral currently plaguing every sector. 
'It is the vision of the SDP to provide you people with the dividends of democracy and I pledged to do just that: recover and restore Cross River State. I urge you all to join me in this vision and make it our collective responsibility to rebrand our dera State'.
SDP faithful across the 196 wards in Cross River State unanimously voted for the former Attorney General and Commissioner for justice, who was the sole aspirant for the governorship ticket.
The primary, which was supervised by SDP governorship primary committee from the national, was peaceful and transparent, as faithful took turns to cast votes in the presence of security operatives and representatives of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.
Expressing gratitude for the mandate to be the governorship candidate of the party, Ekpo stated that the mission to recover and restore Cross River State was not negotiable.
According to him, the mandate was a call for greater service, noting that SDP was determined to sweep across the State to every household and community to get people especially the electorates on board. 
The State Chairman of the party, Honourable Eni Ikpi expressed satisfaction with the turnout of faithful for the primary, noting that the SDP’s decision to conduct its governorship primary in all the local government areas was to enhance security and ensure safety of all members including others.
He added that though the primary, which was slated for Monday, October 1 dovetailed into Tuesday, the party was moving ahead for the next round of primary, its presidential primary billed to hold at Abuja on Saturday, October 6.
