Ayade only State Gov to match Buhari’s commitment to primary healthcare in Nig —Shuaib

The Executive Governor of Cross River State, Mr Ben Ayade, has been described as the only state governor to have equalled President Muhammadu Buhari's commitment to primary healthcare development across the country NEGROIDHAVEN has confirmed.

This information was disclosed Tuesday by the Executive Director of National Primary Healthcare Development Agency, Dr. Faisal Shuaib, speaking on a courtesy call on Governor Ayade where the state was to launch 59 mobile ambulances to used in rural areas for improved health services.

His words, 'Gov Ayade is the only governor in Nigeria that has matched Mr President commitment to primary health care development. He has built primary health centres within 72 hours. We are proud to identify with the work you have done in renovating over 100 primary health care centres, providing solar power and other essential equipment for primary health care development'.

The 59 Primary Healthcare Tricycle Ambulances where procured to deliver effective healthcare in hard to reach  areas of Cross River State. Ayade is working.

During the visit, Gov Ayade announced the approval of the employment of 1000 Nurses into Cross River primary health care Agency.

The State CEO charged the heads of primary healthcare agencies across the country to see their jobs as a unique opportunity from God to save lives in their millions such that they must be committed to going an extra mile to make things work.

Dr Shuaib on his part said that ever since the commissioning of Kuchingoro primary healthcare centre by the President in 2017 there have been massive infrastructural development of PHC across the State which makes Cross River state exceptional.

According to him the 'National Primary Healthcare Development Agency will used the opportunity of this visit to hold their quarterly review meeting while going around to see the Ayade magic in primary healthcare in Cross River which is providing better primary healthcare services for the people.

'I came with the Executive Secretaries of all the State Primary Healthcare boards and agencies in Nigeria and we are excited to be in clean Calabar and hopefully we will share experiences on how we can improve healthcare services for all Nigerians.'
