CRSWBL to commence distribution of clean water, Monday July 8

Plans have been concluded by the new management of the Cross River State Water Board Limited to commence the pumping and distribution of clear water to the residents of Calabar metropolis, its environs and other major towns in the state from Monday July 8, 2019.
Speaking in Calabar yesterday, the Managing Director of CRSWBL, Barr. Ekpo Ada Asuquo, disclosed that his team of water Engineers had worked 24 hours round the clock to ensure that the new Management team meets its second week of July target of giving clean water in accordance to global standard to the people of the state, stressing that because of the team’s effort, the company will be able to commence provision of water on Monday, July 8, 2019.
The Water Board MD who appeared before the Cross River House of Assembly (CRHA), Wednesday, revealed that quality chemicals for the treatment plants have arrived the state and production will commence next week.
Barr. Asuquo who further explained that though the new management will run the company in a profitable manner which will require members of the public and clients to pay certain amount based on what a household will consumed monthly, the people will however be satisfied with the company’s services and will run away from the private bore-holes.
The CRSWBL Managing Director stated that “Because of the quality of Water we will produce from July 8, 2019, we will be generating money from within as earlier disclosed when I addressed the press two weeks ago. The first two months when we start is to restore confidence in the people, by the third month we will start revenue generation as we can generate N40million on monthly basis as  we are out to be a profitable entity that can make money for government, just as we are determined to give quality water and also  ensure it’s sustainability.
“We have 75 000 houses across the state that are connected to water Board and we have capacity to produce 80million litres, of water and hopefully we will meet the target as we are commencing  production.”
The MD revealed further revealed that incorporated in the rehabilitation plan agenda of the new management for the company to function at full capacity and to play it’s duty well is the training and retraining of staff in Germany on Solar Energy Technology for water production.
Barr. Asuquo, therefore solicited for maximum support from members of the public and clients to always pay their water bills and on time when the company shall commence issuing water bills to clients, in order to enable Water Board serve them better.
