APC affirms Sir Ochala as substantive state chairman

….Applauds Prince Jedy-Agba’s appointment as Minister

The All Progressives Congress (APC) yesterday affirmed Sir John Ochala as the substantive Chairman of the party in Cross River State NEGROIDHAVEN can say authoritatively.
Sir Ochala, formerly the State Deputy Chairman of the party was until his affirmation, the Acting State Chairman. He assumed office as Acting Chairman following the death last year of the State Chairman, Dr. Matthew Achigbe.
According to Bassey Ita the Publicity Secretary of the party in the state, the State Working Committee resolved in a meeting Wednesday to affirm the former Acting Chairman as the substantive Chairman.
A motion to that effect was moved by the State Youth Leader, Mr. Effiom Ekaha Otu and a second motion was moved by the State Organizing Secretary, Mr. William Asu Mgbe after which members affirmed through a unanimous voice vote in support of the motion.
The SWC’s decision is expected to be ratified by the State Executive Committee soon.
Ochala in an acceptance speech said the development posed enormous responsibilities to move the party to the next level which would lead to the taking over of the reins of powers in the state.
”We’ll do more to ensure the APC takes over Cross River state. I’ll do my best to justify the confidence reposed in me”, he said.
Meanwhile the SWC has resolved to commence consultative meetings at local government chapters across the state.
State Chairman, Sir Ochala said the essence of the consultative meetings was to appraise the party’s performance at the last general elections, enhance the strength of the various chapters with a view of boosting the morale of members against disenchantment among other issues.
The party again applauded President Muhammadu Buhari’s appointment of Prince Goddy Jedy-Agba as Minister into the Federal Executive Council and appreciated the Minister for demonstrating sportsmanship in the affairs of the party so far.
