With over four months after inauguration on 29th May 2019, the Office of the Deputy Governor of Cross River State is still bereft of sufficient statutory aides NEGROIDHAVEN has learnt.

According to our findings, this is owing to the fact His Excellency the Executive Governor of the state, Sen. Prof. Benedict B. Ayade is yet to approve appointments of aides into the Office of the Deputy Governor.
According to a source close to the development, the Deputy Governor Esu had forwarded a list of his recommended staff for approval by the governor, but the governor is yet to give his official nod.
As it stands, the Deputy Governor who is entitled to about 18 aides has been working assiduously with just two staff, namely the Head of Personal Staff to the Deputy Governor (HPS), and Head of Protocol (HOP).
No official communication has been made as to why there is a delay. When contacted on the matter the Chief Press Secretary/Special Adviser on Media to His Excellency the Executive Governor, Christian Ita explained that the announcement will soon be made. According to him, 'It will be announced… very soon'.
Meanwhile, last week the Governor approved appointments of aides for the Office of the Wife of the Governor.
