Partners for Peace in Cross River state congratulates the All Progressives Congress in Cross River State for adding a golden feather to their cap as they receive the governor of the state into their fold.
We therefore wish the governor well in his future endeavors under his new political platform.
As a none political organization whose sole purpose is given to forestalling peace and preventing crisis as well as conflict resolution, we use this medium to call on the governor as the Chief Security Officer of the state to use all apparatus of government and ensure the safety of Cross Riverians. The security of the lives and properties of our people is sacrosanct and none negotiable.
Having observed and watched with keen interest recent happenings in the state, we call on leaders of all political parties in the state especially the two main actors, APC and PDP to call their members to order and ensure we do not record any outburst of crisis and political violence even as we prepare for the 2023 elections.
We also call on the various security outfits in the state to be alert while all CSOs, CBOs and NGOs given to peace and security should beef up their strategies and ensure prompt reportage of crisis through the various early warning signals.
Politics is not a do or die affair, let’s all trade with caution and avoid making inflammatory statements both on our social media handles and offline meeting and gatherings.
As a peace promoting organization we shall continue to partner with the Cross River State Government and all other relevant corporate bodies and individuals to ensure our state and citizens is violent free.
