Gov. Ben Ayade of Cross River state makes U-turn by suspending Carnival Calabar 2021 NEGROIDHAVEN can say.

The decision by the State government to suspend the 2021 Carnival Calabar is over Health and Security concerns especially the emergence of Omicron the newly discovered Covid-19 variant.

Initially, it was reported very recently that Gov Ayade was to unveil the “Theme” for 2021 carnival on November 29.

Carnival activities were to be restricted to U.J. Esuene stadium due to COVID-19 protocols.

Some who are critical of the state government decision says Ayade was not originally keen about having the street party this year. That he is using Covid-19 as an cover.
