One of the federal constituencies in the southern extraction of Cross River state is likely to have a woman as Representative come 2023 general elections NEGROIDHAVEN has garnered.

Akpabuyo/Bakassi/Calabar Federal Constituency has Lady Emana Duke Ambrose-Amahwe gunning to represent the Constituency at the anticipated 10th National Assembly.

Lady Emana Ambrose-Amahwe expressed this gender sentiment to the combined 10 wards EXCO of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP in Bakassi LGA chapter.

While addressing the audience of PDP Bakassi chapter leaders across the 10 wards in Ekpri Ikang, Bakassi, Lady Ambrose-Amawhe affirmed that ‘What took me here today is to notify you that I have the intention of joining the race for the House of Representatives vto represent Akpabuyo/Bakassi/Calabar South Federal Constituency.

Continuing she observed that ‘Out of the seven members who represent us in the House of Representatives from Cross River, we don’t have any woman. Women should be angry. If the women don’t stand with me, I should ask women, are we this dull…? This is a lie! During the International Women’s Day, on CRBC I asked, I asked: who deceived us women that we cannot get the job done? Where did that lie come from?’

Lady Emana Ambrose-Amahwe further noted that in this generation, we need someone who can get the job done. We need someone who won’t be afraid of people’s face to speak truth to power.

On the Bakassi question, she said Bakassi needs to be resettled. Someone who can reverse the trend of poverty, hunger, suffering, backwardness, and the like through genuine interest in the wellbeing of the people, legislative lobbying power, negotiating skills.
